Electric vehicles are becoming more and more popular among drivers all over the world thanks to their ability to not only save you money by cutting out trips to the gas pump, but also eliminating emissions and helping the environment. Until now, however, when you wanted to recharge the battery on your electric vehicle, you'd have to plug it into a charging station, either at home or at one of the many public stations around the world. But with the recent developments made by Kia Motors as demonstrated on five new Kia Soul EV models, you can lose the plug and wirelessly charge your vehicle thanks to a new wireless charging system that uses an electromagnetic field to transfer energy between a transmitter on the ground and the receiver at the bottom of your vehicle, making charging easier and more convenient than ever before!
The wireless charging system has been in development for three-years, going from production to real-world use on a number of new Kia Soul EV models. While the system is currently not planned to be used on production vehicles yet, it's an exciting and revolutionary development on further advancing electric vehicles and the ease and convenience in which drivers all over the world can enjoy them.
